Spot checks of the nest on August 5, 7 and almost daily since then by Phil Martin and me have not resulted any sightings of adults or young Bald Eagles.
On August 17 one adult flew over the west Miramar wetlands at sunrise (6:50 AM). This is about 1.5 miles SE of the Pembroke Pines nest and the eagle was flying SE towards the large lake in Sunset Lakes. It appeared to be the female (Jewel) from the Pembroke Pines nest.
Please report any sightings as it will be interesting to know whether the juvenile eagles will migrate away from the nest area. In 2016, the last time a second brood was hatched, the surviving juvenile did not migrate and remained present in the area into September.
