Thanks for your report. Was it an adult with a white head and tail? It would not be unusual to see an adult here any time of year, as they tend to wander about their territories in south Florida. The pair at Quiet Waters Park may be preparing to nest at a site which is only about 6 miles east of your location. Immature birds more commonly migrate to the north and often start returning later in the autumn.
