The chick is one day old, and too small to be seen from the ground. It is being sheltered closely by one parent, probably the female bird. Its mate started to carry a large prey item to the nest, but an Osprey was following close behind. Had the Osprey been robbed of its fish by the eagle? Minutes later, the eagle brought the prey to the nest and appeared to be biting off small portions, which it transferred to the brooding adult. This bird then seemed to be feeding it to the eaglet, though we could not see for sure.
