Here is an e-mail from Matt Smith, Florida Audubon EagleWatch Coordinator:Hello Everyone!
I hope you have all had a great summer. We are just over two weeks away from the official start of eagle nesting season in Florida, and many eagle pairs have already returned to their nests. My own pair, who nest on a lovely high-tension transmission tower, showed up at the end of last week and have begun repairing the nest, which took a beating in the summer storms.
EagleWatch will be conducting training events this fall. A list of these events is can be found at the end of this email. This schedule is still evolving and dates and locations will be added – I will send updates when new events are added. Please call or email me to RSVP or if you have any questions.
After much work to correct the problems we encountered last year, we will be using the online data entry portal starting this season. Please stay tuned for a detailed email about that before October 1st.
