Eaglets visable above edge of nest

Today was the first real glimpse of the eaglets.  Yes, I'm pretty sure there were at least 2.  They poked their wobbley heads above the edge of the nest for a few moments at a time.  Mom, (or Dad?) sat at the edge of the  nest and preened.  Their heads appeared fuzzy and grey, with a large dark area around their eyes.

Great news! Our granddaughters are visiting from Chicago and can't wait to see them tomorrow.

This afternoon, I photographed the head of one of the eagles as it was being fed. The chick engaged in a tug of war over some stringy meat that looked like entrails. Note the update about need for excavation of a line in front of the nest, after all.
