NOV 23: Female (Jewel) sitting in nest-- Eggs??

Phil Martin sent this photo and writes (NOV 23)

Hi Ken,
I made visits to the nest several times this morning and the latest departing at 1:40pm. In all my visits I observed the same activity and that is the female sitting in the nest, in the same position. I have not seen any movement from her. My last visit was from approximately 1:00-1:40. Based upon previous years behaviors and approximate time frames, I am inclined to believe she has laid egg(s) or is in the process of doing so. The attached photo is the best angle I was able to get. I did not see Pride today.
Phil

Thanks, Phil -- great observation. She seems to be sitting rather high in this photo. My guess is that she has become "broody" and agree that the first egg may be deposited within the next day or two. Based upon our prior years' observations (see milestone spreadsheet) I  expect that she will then be almost out of sight in that huge nest and tend not to leave the nest at all for a few days, before exchanging incubation duties with the male.
