Nest watching today- 4/3, 12:15-3:00 PM

Jill W
Both chicks were resting until about 12:45 and then they both got up and started the jumping and flapping.  One of them jumped straight up and flapped continuously, keeping itself in the air like a helicopter.  It did this many times while I was there.
At 1:10 there was a small feeding, and at 1:20, the adult was on a horizontal limb above the nest and remained there until 2:40.  At times, it was very easy to see, but when the wind blew (and it did a lot of the time), it was almost impossible to see unless one knew exactly where to look.
During the time the adult was on that limb, one or both chicks were begging with loud baby cries.
