During this period the young were in and out of the nest 3 or 4 times...sometimes together and sometimes singly. They weren't soaring all around as much as other days and when they were in the nest they were both down pointing west to east. The small group of us watching speculated that in the 20-25 knot east winds perhaps they tired more quickly or even had difficulty flying or perching. They didn't stand up in the nest or perch in any of the pines. Only for a short time Justice was preening in the maleleucas quite far back from the road. No adults were seen and no feeding/eating of any kind was observed. When we departed both siblings were hunkered down in the nest. I hope we read if their behavior patterns changed later in the day.
