Dunedin Eaglets Falling Down, Falling Down, Falling Down, Dunedin Eaglets Falling Down, but they're O KAY!

The eaglet which was rescued Easter morning from PI20 aka "Hoover's" nest has a fractured fibula but it isn't too bad and will be okay. This morning when that eaglet was being transported to the Audubon Bird of Prey Center a second eaglet was spotted on the ground by residents in the Dunedin neighborhood.

Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary sent another rescuer.  The eaglet had managed to move from near the garage of one house to a nearby yard.  It hid in the shade under a small wooden structure.  How it got over the chain link fence isn't clear but it was probably partially flighted and able to make it to the top of the gate and then back down to the ground, in other words one big hop.

One eaglet, believed to be the smallest, remains in the nest tree.   Among the remnants of the nest were fish scales and small turtle shells which are common to eagle's nests.
