Two eaglets photographed today

See today's "Eagle Watching" page note and photos of the two chicks. Sorry about the poor quality of the photos, but my camera settings were wrong. Still waiting for a reply from FWS about construction plans that may create a disturbance about 200 feet in front of the nest and also interrupt public access to the only vantage point.

I came by today with my 2 daughters and you lend us your binoclulars  so that we can see them better!  All I can say is, amazing! Your site is great and with lots of information. Great work!

 One day I went to the go visit the nest and I saw a truck on the opposite side of the road.  The guy got out of the truck and came to talk to us.  He told us he was here to watch the eagle all day from early in the morning to 5:00 pm.  He just sits there and watches the eagle to see when they fledge.  After they fledge they are allowed to start the construction. I thought of stopping by one day and giving him some observational checklist so that we can have data on what they do during the noon.

That was probably Mr. Timothy McCoy, who works for the contractor.
Yesterday, they finished up all the work they could do without getting
to within 330 feet of the nest. He will probably drop by every now and
then, but only to find out if the chicks are still in the nest. If all
goes well, they should fledge around late March or early April. Then the
contractor is permitted to finish work on installing the traffic lights
at Pines and 209th.
