Has anyone observed the delivery truck arriving at the nest lately?  I wonder if they get much to eat these days?  I would love to hear that they have managed to catch their own food - or at least that they are trying.
It's funny that you went out to Long Key yesterday.  I had a speaker come to give a presentation to my classes - Barry Heimlich, a past president of the Broward Audubon Society.  He mentioned how wonderful Long Key was, and even had a fabulous photo that he had taken of the tree covered in white birds of various species.  Now I really do  have to get out there!  The presentation was wonderful - he had a extensive variety of birds photographed mostly by himself.  They were organized and discussed so that the students could learn to identify and differentiate between various Herons and Egrets.  The kids loved it, and had lots of questions to ask.  It is amazing how this has brought out the best parts of the community.  Doesn't it make you have hope, amid all of the whoas of the world?
