I was at the nest today from 11:45 a.m. to about 12:20 p.m. At first, there was no sign of anything in or around the nest, very quiet. Then, the 1 eaglet popped his head up - facing to the north / west. He was up for a while, flapping his wings. He turned directly towards me, north. He then turned around and was facing south / east for a while. He then turned back around and was to the west / north again; a lot of activity, but just a little wing-flapping.
Has anyone actually see 2 eaglets lately? Because, this one seems pretty big - and I would think that the other one would be visible by now. But, there was no sign at all of a 2nd eaglet. I stayed about 1/2 an hour and this eaglet was all that I saw. He seems healthy and active! I took MANY photos and examined every single one for evidence of another baby in the nest, but there wasn't. I'm not saying there isn't, I just wonder if anybody else has seen two side-by-side. I hope there are still 2.
There were a lot of large birds flying overhead, but, again, I didn't see the adult eagles at all.
