We arrived at the nest this morning at about 9:15 AM and found Pride just standing on the right side of the nest with his wings partly open.He kept that posture for the entire 30 minutes that we watched. There were quite a few white feathers scattered around the nest and on the branches. Our assumption is that we had just missed a feeding and the eaglets were full and probably sleeping.
Jewel was perched in an unusual spot, the very top of a medium-sized Australian Pine to the west and alongside the Melaleuca snags. The branch was very limber, and it swayed in the wind. Jewel was mostly preening. At one point she looked around and we thought she might fly, but she was still there when we left.
