One of the ground observers reported watching the nest from about 12 noon to 1:30 PM on Friday December 11. Pride flew in with a bird and fed it to Jewel on the nest. After she finished the pair started calling loudly and Pride flew down and they copulated on the nest (photos verify this event). Again, this behavior suggests that the first egg has not yet been laid, but Jewel is undergoing the "broody" period which precedes egg laying. Try to watch carefully the next few days for Jewel to settle deep in the nest and not spending much time standing up or moving away from the nest.
