JULY 26: Large adult eagle fishing in west Miramar

This morning at 7:43 AM, about an hour after sunrise, an adult Bald Eagle was circling the Harbour Lakes mitigation area lake about 0.2 miles out. It splashed down a couple of times but did not catch any fish. Then it roosted in a pine about 0.4 miles away on the opposite shore. This roost is about 1.2 miles SE of the Pines eagle nest. The large body size and head shape strongly suggest that this is the female, Jewel. She did not catch any fish while I watched and stayed in the roost for at least 20 minutes, when I departed. Because of the distance, the photos are not very sharp.
