Mary Lou and I arrived at about 9 AM, finding no eagles at or around the nest. We watched the nest for about 20 minutes to be sure that it was empty and at no time saw any sign of an eagle on the nest.

On the way home we also checked the lighthouse at Sunset Lakes, as a neighbor said they had been seen there recently, but there was no sign of them.

I went by this morning around 10:30 am , Joy was on the edge of the nest then decided to settle herself in deep inside of it barely seeing the top of her head. Hopefully something is cooking !!!

It was exactly  a year ago (November 24th 2012) when the eagles laid their first egg. The female can be invisible behind the rim of the nest while she is incubating, so keep a sharp eye out for the top of her head.

This is the seventh year (the sixth breeding season that we have been tracking significant events in the lives of this pair of eagles. See the milestone chart here: http://www.rosyfinch.com/BaldEagleNest.html#SUMMARY
