Hello Everyone,
I am happy to report that they are both okay and to me it looks like the same pair. They look nice and healthy and clean too. I don't see a nest yet, but there is still time for them to pull this off, and they may have a new location that we just have not found yet, possibly on the North end of the park. I will keep looking and let you all know as soon as I see something. This picture was taken near last years nest tree.

Hi Naturegirl,
This was taken near last years nest tree, closer to the very old nest tree. I saw them this last weekend on Friday hunting on the NW lake, it was amazing watching on of the adults (The Male) trying to catch a smaller bird and how relentless they are when chasing prey, the other adult (Female) was perched in a tall pine tree in the island of the NW lake, so they are still in the area, just haven't found a nest yet. I plan to look harder in the coming days because this is the time that they should be building their nest. I will report as soon as I find something. I have an idea that it might be in the N side of the park, and like another poster said maybe on the island of the NW lake near where I saw the Female perched. Kit

Hello,
So this is one of the nests that I have found that might be big enough for the eagles, I will have to check and stalk it some more to see if they are building it or if this is an old nest from some other birds like Blue Herons or something big like that, this is on the island in the NW lake. I'll let you know what I find out by the weekend. Kit

It's a mystery. Can this nest be seen from a hiking trail ? I don't kayak so hoping a nest is visible by walking .

It can be seen from the Limpkin Pavilion at the NW corner of the park at the edge of the lake, but I'm not sure if this is the nest yet.

Just left the dog waterpark and you get a great view of that island from the picnic tables near the entrance to the park and saw both eagles perched up on a branch.
Looking from both angles which would also be from the pavilion it looks like there is a big nest in the middle of the trees. |
Yes,
That's it, I'm going to rent a canoe this weekend to get a little closer to be sure, but I see them up there too. The problem is during the months of Jan-April that part of the park will be closed due to the RenFest. I was at the dog park yesterday taking pictures. This location is a good 520 feet away from the nest according to google earth. Kit
