We arrived at the eagle nest a little before 8:30 AM. Temperature in the high 70s (F) and it was overcast and foggy, providing poor conditions for photography. There was one adult on the nest, feeding the eaglet. I was not sure of the sex. After about 5 minutes the adult then flew off to roost in the melaleucas. The eaglet settled down mostly out of sight.

The sky brightened up a bit just before we left.

Nice Picture Ken, especially considering the conditions this morning. I really liked the photo of the adult feeding the chick and the adult perched on the Maleluca! Good stuff.

I stopped by the nest around 2:00 PM today and stayed for about 40 minutes. Neither adult was anywhere I could see around the nest, but the eaglet was fairly active. It moved around the nest and even did a bunch of wing flapping. The wind was up so getting a clear shot was a matter of timing the sway of the branches and hoping for some luck.

Here are a few of the shots I did get.

Eaglet flapping its' wings
Eaglet flapping its's wings. You can see it is starting to get some feathers started.

More wing flapping
More flapping of the wings. This went on for a couple of minutes.

Change in position, more flapping.
Is anybody out there with food?
