It was 60 degrees and very windy. There was one adult on the nest, usually crouching low, presumably to protect the triplets from the wind chill. Two ospreys circled together over the nest for a minute or two, but the eagle appeared not to take notice.







On the way home we stopped at West Pines Soccer Park and Nature Preserve, and saw a flock of Cedar Waxwings. I flushed a Wilson's Snipe from the far edge of the boardwalk, but it flew a short distance and quickly disappeared in the vegetation.
