With the todays wind from the northwest , the view of the nest was excellent

Yes, and when we performed a welfare check on the nest on December 30, there was no wind and the nest was barely visible. We watched for about a half hour around 9:30 AM, and Al joined us. We did not see any eagle on the nest or in the area.
