We arrived at the nest at 9:00 AM and found both eaglets had come back to the nest. One was on the branch to the right and this one was in the nest. They were calling.
They must have seen the male parent nearby. In about 20 minutes both parents arrived in rapid succession, each with a fish-- the male first.
He quickly retreated after being mobbed by the boisterous eaglets which were bigger than he.
The female also brought an even smaller fish , but she stayed a bit longer.
She was also attacked. The older eaglet even grabbed her foot in his beak! (Click on photo to select full-screen view as well as additional photos in FLICKR)
She retreated up the branch to the right and then flew to roost in the favorite pine to the east.
The male circled overhead and faded out of sight to the north.
The female soon flew directly out to the north.
