Arrived at the nest at about 9:30 this morning. Phil and Carlos were there and told me I had just missed a feeding. An adult was on the nest but I was not sure which one of the pair. The eaglets continued to beg for food but I did not see any feeding. The oldest (on the left in these photos) is now just about 3 weeks old and is larger and has less natal down than her younger sibling.Statistically, the first hatchling is a female about 2 of 3 times, and nests with a first female followed by a male are more successful than those in which a male hatches first and is followed by a female, and even where both of the first hatched are female. Females are larger and more aggressive at all stages of development, yet the sex ratio is still 1 male to 1 female overall.
