Female brings stick to nest just after sunrise OCT 19

Mary Lou and I arrived at the eagle nest site at about 7:15 AM, which is 7 minutes before sunrise. We found the female roosting on a Melaleuca snag west of the nest. The image is soft due to the poor lighting conditions (f/5.6, ISO 3200, exposure 1/200 sec, no flash).



At exactly the time of sunrise she flew off to the SW and disappeared for about 3 minutes, reappearing at the nest with a stick.



She arranged the nest materials for a minute or so, then flew off at 7:26 AM, just as sunlight began to bathe the nest. We continued watching until 7:50, but she did not return. We never saw the male.
