JAN 27 & 28: No sightings of adults at nest-- Abandonment appears likely

Please keep watching for signs of activity at the nest. There have been no reports of adults at the nest since JAN 23. Maria-Rosa saw one roosting in the vicinity on JAN 26.

Phil reports (JAN 28):

Hi Ken,

Just wanted to let you know, I was out at the nest at 10:00 and there was no activity, the nest appeared intact.  Also I was out yesterday around 10:30 no activity.  I wonder if the adults haven't departed the area.

I was happy to hear the Eaglet was taken to Busch.  They are a great facility and at any time the have about 15 Bald Eagles at various stages of rehab.  I go up a couple times per month.

Phil

An adult was on the melaleucas this morning and I saw them both a couple days ago on the nest.  I can't remember. I was thinking there were a lot of people watching so I didn't write about it.

Hi. Everybody. I have not been on here for awhile. I was at the nest Sunday morning the 24th at approximately 11:15 and saw both eagles at the nest. One looked like it was feeding but I only witnessed 2 head bobs. Then one flew off to the north and did not return for the 15 minutes I was there. The other eagle perched on a branch just above and slightly west of the nest. I looked away and missed where this eagle went. I didn't see a fly off so I assume it went into the nest. I was distracted by a couple that had walked up to the sidewalk in front of the nest. This was when the eagle moved. But. I like everyone else am hoping for the best.
