Nest Observation 11/02/13 8:30 A.M.-10:30 A.M.

I arrived at the nest at around 8:30 this morning hoping to see the eagles since last Saturday I spent one hour and a half at the nest without seeing them.  Luckily for me today, patience paid off, I must say I had a field day.  While waiting by the nest area across in the median, a driver by notified me that the eagles were perched on a dry pine tree east of me.  I quickly joined my homolog (Phil M and his wife as they were taking pictures).  I took a series of pictures of the eagles on that tree until around 10 o'clock when they flew to the nest.  Both eagles were at the nest and proceeded to rearrange a few sticks.  They both laid down and finally one moved to an upper branch and the other one stayed laying down.  I'll refrain from identifying them since I am not sure which of the two is the female or the male. We should be alert to courtship and mating behavior, especially beginning 10-14 days before the eggs are laid.

Thanks Ken.  I think it might be very soon...when I left the nest yesterday at around 10:30, one adult was still in it. For a second I thought the process had begun.

Phil thanks so much for all your support there are a few that have really helped me with pictures to post on our Facebook page ... Thanks everyone .. I went to the Nest this evening before it got dark me and my husband waited for mom or dad to show .. We drove to the side road and we did see one of them fly off and we heard them talking to each other then it got to dark so we left :(
